The information you kindly provide here forms the basis of the creative brief; without which nothing much is possible. The completion of this logo design brief is the first step in the logo design process and allows me to better understand your specific requirements.
  • It would help me to know how you found me? Eg. through Google, Twitter or similar or someone referred you?
  • Logo Design Options

  • Schedules

Please answer both questions below. This helps me gauge the overall time and schedule for the project. I may not be able to take on work if the project is urgent and needed quickly, due to existing ongoing projects.
  • Usually I require 2 to 4 weeks notice, but I may be able to help if you need something promptly. Please indicate how long you are happy to wait before commencing the project.
  • I am often able to take on urgent logo design projects, but this depends on what is needed and your budget. Urgent schedules will cost more.
  • Your Brand Logo information

Please answer all as completely and as descriptively as possible. The idea with all this is for me to be able to get a good idea of what you do.
  • Please enter the exact wording you would like to used in your Logo. (For me its 'Designbull', for Coke its 'Coca-Cola' etc)
  • If you have an existing tagline or slogan and would like it as part of your logo, please enter it here. If you don't have one, it may be worth working on this for you as a good tagline can help enhance and clarify a logo identity.
  • (This is important. Please provide some background information so we can understand your reasons.)
  • (This is where I would like you to be descriptive and detailed as I really need to understand to the best of my abilities, what I am designing for.)
  • (Think along the lines of descriptive tag lines. 6-10 words is the ideal number of words but if you can't manage it in 6, then as few words as possible. This helps me quickly understand what it is you do and who or what you are about. Imagine you have just 60 seconds to enthusiastically but realistically describe what it is you do)
  • Outside looking in. When consumers/clients/customers or the general public view your brand; what would be the ideal feeling or emotion you would like them to feel?)
  • I have also listed some optional suggested words or phrases. Please select the words that best describe your company or product:
  • Please list the type of people that need to be influenced by the logo when they see it. For example, who is the decision maker of the company, customers, investors etc. If possible, please indicate geography (local, regional, national, global) and demographic information (gender, age, income, profession).
  • Does this logo need to compete with any existing similar businesses, companies etc? Or are you more of a unique business idea and there will be no major competition in terms of identity to really make a bigger or more stylish splash?
  • Please provide a list of your competitors. URL's of websites or names of companies that you compete with, or have a similar agenda to.This includes: local, regional and/or worldwide. We absolutely need to know how your competitors brand and position themselves before we can create a visual identity for you.
  • This is about being prepared. You may know of companies that don't compete with you yet but may soon be advancing on your market place?
  • This gives me an idea of the scope of the project in terms of staff and client awareness for the identity.
  • Are you home based or work in offices? If you have multiple offices and/or locations then please also specify.
  • Technical and practical details.

Please answer all as completely and as descriptively as possible. The idea with all this is for me to be able to get a good idea of what you specifically require for the logo brand.
  • Check all that apply
  • This is optional, but you may already know you want a typographic only logo, or a standard combination logo that has both wording and separate graphic element. Please add your requirements.
  • I need to know where you plan to use the logo. This determines the overal design and how flexible and adaptable the design needs to be.
  • This relates to the above question. I need to know how the logo will work in the real world at the extreme of sizes. A logo that looks good on a business card may not be legible on the side of a van. Let me know if you need the logo to be legible printed on the side of a pen and/or on the side of a building.
  • If you are looking for more than just a logo design, please list any additional design items you require here. For example, stationery designs, brochure design, website design, exhibition or conference stands, signage etc.
  • Optional information

If you have any particular ideas or thoughts about the logo then please use this section to help communicate these with me. None of these field are required.
  • This helps me gauge your 'wavelength' on what type of style you like and if it's suitable for your industry. Please list URLs of their websites and why you like/dislike them. As many as you see fit would be ideal.
  • Do you have any preferred colours? Please list colours you feel will have a negative or positive impact.
  • Are there any images/symbols/icons you like, that sum up what you do? You may have a crest, or emblem you would like to include. Or any random thoughts on where you see your logo design going.
  • If you have any more information that couldn't be squeezed in above then do add more into this space.
  • For example, do you have partners, a committee, or a manager that needs to approve the final logo design. One person is best for me but I can work with teams?
  • Thanks for taking the time to fill out our worksheet. Once you hit the submit button, you'll send it straight to me and I hope to reply within 48hrs.
  • This field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.

When filling in the form…

Please take your time, and provide answers that are as descriptive as possible. Completing this is essential in providing a solid base from which we will interpret and understand what you need from your logo and identity.

I keep copies of all completed forms with a copy sent onto you for your records once you’ve completed it.

I will usually get back to you within 24-48 hours. At this point I will either phone or Skype to go over all the details, or ask you some further questions to help build up the identity project brief.
